Having just sat through a course on general farming risk…..
I thought I would share a couple of points for your consideration……
Farming is a risky business……
- 37% of the workplace fatalities in 2011 occurred on farms despite farming only making up 11% of NZ's total employment
- 18,700 ACC farm accident claims in 2011 - one every 28 minutes
- Age and experience are no protection - the risk of injury actually increases with age and experience
Now that all said we here at TvA can't stop all the accidents, but we can help you address some of the risk vs cost….
