Shades of Y2K

Date: 05 September 2013

On 8 April 2014, Microsoft will end support for the twelve year old Windows XP operating system.  This means you will no longer receive security updates for Windows XP or Office 2003.

Apparently after 8 April 2014 an XP or Office 2003 computer will be 16 times more likely to get a virus, most internet banking sites will cease to function, some e-mail services and social media sites will not work.

We contacted pcMedia.  Lee Harper advises;

"Upgrade options currently include Windows 7 or Windows 8. Most businesses find that Windows 7 is a very good fit for their business and easy to transition to."

pcMedia offer a free assessment of your business's upgrade options.
