New or returning to New Zealand?

There are tax exemptions for new and returning New Zealanders, however applying the exemptions may not be the best option for you in the long term. 

Some tax assistance such as Working for Families will not be available if you claim the exemption, you could be doing yourself an injustice by not looking at the options.
