Investing in the Cook Islands

These funds are considered to be Cook Island investments as the company was started in the Cook Islands.  These funds are not Australian investments and therefore do not receive any exemptions.

If you have an interest in a MAN OM-IP fund then your investment is subject to the Foreign Investment Fund rules and is taxable in New Zealand. The IRD will now be focused on following up on each investor to ensure that they have paid the correct tax.

If you are at all concerned about whether you have disclosed your interest in a MAN OM-IP fund correctly in your tax return, please give me a call or email louise@tva.co.nz
