And we have a winner!

We are very pleased to announce that George Adams is the winner of our Inaugural Outward Bound Scholarship for 2017.

Last year we looked at all the things we supported in Marlborough and we realised we wanted to give something to help our youth – and partnering with Outward Bound was a good fit.  We were looking for a young person who loved Marlborough, who wanted to make a difference in this community and who would benefit from going on this course.

And George ticked all these boxes.  He impressed us with his ideas, and thinking, and his personal awareness of what he would gain from going to Outward Bound. He mentioned that a couple of his employers had said he would benefit from going so when the opportunity came up to apply for sponsorship he grabbed it with both hands.

George is completing a Masters of Management in Agricultural Systems at Lincoln University and wants to help the rural community of Marlborough by improving profitability through new approaches to the business of farming.

We will follow George’s journey and share his progress with you.

Congratulations George – we are thrilled you are our first Scholarship winner.

Will be attending the Compass Course on 20th May 2017.

Want to know more, check out their website.

Congratulations and we hope you enjoy every minute in this great adventure!
