How to reduce your ACC bill by 10% for 3 years

Date: 13 April 2012

If a Marlborough business demonstrates good health and safety management practices, you may be able to save 10% each year for 3 years off the work-related component of your ACC levies.

Work it out for your business? The savings could be over $1,000 or more??

Workplace Safety Discounts reward those that have a proven commitment to reducing injuries in their workplace. This, in turn, reduces the costs of staff absence, reduced productivity, official investigations, and the personal, professional and social impacts for the injured people themselves.

How to apply

  • key staff complete a free (usually half to one-day) industry-specific training course, or providing evidence of other health and safety training or appropriate on-the-job experience
  • submitting a completed self-assessment booklet to ACC.

Benefit
Successful applicants receive the 10% work levy discount for the current levy year (1 April to 31 March) and the two years following.

Who qualifies?
ACC Workplace Safety Discounts are available to small businesses and self-employed people in industries related to agriculture, construction, fishing, forestry, motor trades, road transport and waste management.

The road block
TvA will organise the courses free of charge BUT …………..before ACC will present the course we need a minimum of 12 businesses per course.

This invitation is open to any Marlborough business. Are you interested? If so, email us your expression of interest at all@tva.co.nz and we will get this happening.

Could we reduce the ACC bill of 12 construction related businesses by $12,000. Just maybe!
